HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF THE EVANGELICAL COVENANT CHURCH OF RWANDA “ ECCR” INTRODUCTION The Evangelical Covenant Church of Rwanda “ECCR” is a Christian organization operating in Rwanda since 2018, with its primary activities, starting in Muhanga District and later relocating to Kamonyi District; as a result of the revelation, the dream and the Call that was also in the servant of God, Bishop Apollinaire Musafiri Gakombe, who is Primarily the Founder of the ECCR in Rwanda,with the aim of expanding the kingdom of God, and proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, born again in the Pentecostal Church of Rwanda (ADEPR Church), engaged in various activities, evangelism, singing and deacons, he will choose to expand the kingdom of God and embrace this church, and to launch it on Rwandan territory ; After praying and being persuaded by the Spirit of God, that he would support him, and bring others who would help him in this dream, and on that journey, he accepted it, with the permission of The Evangelical Covenant Church of Kenya, during its Annual General Assembly, convened on 11/08/2019, in Nakuru- Kenya,however the dream comfirmed. The "ECCR" is independent in its operations, has its headquarters in Kamonyi District, and may be relocated to Kigali City, The Evangelical Covenant Church of Rwanda (ECCR) is part of The Evangelical Covenant Church with its HQs in the U.S.A Chicago which is multi-ethnic denomination Church. The Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) was founded in 1885 by Swedish immigrants and values the Bible as the word of God, the gift of God’s grace and the ever-deepening spiritual life that comes through faith in Jesus Christ, the importance of extending God’s love and compassion to hurting world and strength that comes from unity within diversity.
